FAQ

What is Padma Wellbeing?

Padma Wellbeing is a health food and lifestyle company determined to build a world for better, for generations to come. Our aim is to provide better food options  that are both nutritious and sustainable. At the core of what we do lies our vision to empower people through our initiatives to alleviate poverty and protect the long term sustainability of our planet.

How did Padma Wellbeing get started?

It all began when our founder was a part of the bustling corporate world. Frustrated with the lack of healthy, plant-based, high fibre and high protein food options, increasing incidence of diseases, poor nutrition and the impact our actions were having on the world and our future, she embarked on a journey of research and soul searching. And so Padma Wellbeing was born.

Is it vegan?

Yes. All our products are vegan and no animals were harmed. Our goal is to provide plant-based protein foods that are both nutritious and delicious.

Is it gluten-free?

Our dark chocolate & toasted coconut granola contains oats so is not considered gluten-free due to oats often been grown in cross proximity to wheat, but is classified as low gluten.

Our ayurvedic turmeric & chilli and our lemon myrtle & hemp granolas are gluten-free.

You use an ingredient called lupin flake in your granola. What are lupins? Are they good for me?

We use Australian Sweet Lupins, which is a legume known as Lupinus angustifolius. Lupin flakes are produced by dehulling the lupin bean, splitting it and milling it into flat flakes. They are not processed in any way.

These sunny yellow flakes are incredibly high in protein and fibre and low in carbohydrates. It keeps you feeling fuller for longer and can assist with your weight maintenance or loss goals when consumed as part of a balanced diet.

You can read more about this amazing little bean on our blog.

What is the allergen status of lupin?

Lupin, like any other legume protein source (e.g. peas, lentils, peanuts, soybeans) may sometimes trigger an allergic response in a small percentage of the population.

A proportion of people who are allergic to peanuts may also react to lupin.

It is important that you consult your doctor if you know or suspect you may be allergic to lupin.
